Introducing Jared Hudson: Discipleship Pastor

We are so thrilled to announce our newest team member, Jared Hudson, to the FBC Loganville family. Jared was announced to the congregation on Sunday, September 22, 2024. He, along with his wonderful family, will officially join us later this fall.

In this discipleship pastoral role, Jared will be responsible for overseeing adult discipleship and midsize events.

Jared Hudson is a husband, father, and follower of Christ, who committed his life to full-time ministry as a teenager. He grew up in a military household that moved regularly but eventually settled in Warner Robins, Georgia. Jared comes from a family committed to following Jesus and serving the church. His parents raised him and his two sisters in a Christian home, and his grandfather was a lifelong preacher and pastor. From a very early age, Jared knew the importance of the local church and was eventually called to dedicate his life to its mission.

After feeling a calling into full-time ministry, Jared attended Liberty University for his undergraduate studies where he received his bachelor’s degree in worship and music. He met his wife, Lisa Kay, at Liberty on the very first day of orientation. They dated throughout college and got married a few years later in 2011. Following graduation, Jared worked in a couple of different churches before settling down at Sycamore Creek Church, thirty minutes outside of Columbus, Ohio, where they have been for the past twelve and a half years.

Ohio is where Jared and Lisa Kay started their family. They have three daughters, Audrey (9), Elsie (6), and Annie (4). The Hudson family also has a thirteen-year-old back lab named Turner, as all Hudson family dogs must have Braves-themed names.

After spending years as a worship pastor, Jared went back to Liberty University online and earned his master’s degree in theological studies. He then pursued further graduate work at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary where he received a graduate certificate in biblical counseling. Though he still loves leading worship, Jared stepped away from the full-time worship pastor position to focus more on inter-personal ministry and discipleship at Sycamore Creek Church as their associate pastor.

Jared and Lisa Kay love to travel, and they aim to visit a new city or destination each year. They try to visit cities where there is an MLB ballpark to check off their list. As a family, summer vacation time has typically been reserved for visiting family in Georgia or going on vacations to the beach or lake with extended family.

Jared is a fan of all professional Atlanta sports teams. He follows the Braves very closely and never misses a game. As a Liberty University alumnus, he follows the Liberty Flames football team. He also cheers for the South Carolina Gamecocks, where his dad attended college. Apart from being a sports fan, Jared has several other hobbies including golfing, card collecting, and learning new DIY projects. He also loves snowboarding and goes on a trip to the mountains every year with his friends.
